ENGLISH OAK BOARDED DOORS.
| English oak doors are made
to measure by local craftsmen. They are made in two grades: either out of
our Exmoor
oak which has small tidy knots or out of our Haddeo oak where there are
greater clusters of catspaw, bolder figuring, larger knots and greater colour
variations. In either case the characteristics of English oak lend themselves well to this most traditional style of oak door. There are two main styles: the ledge and boarded oak door which has four ledges or the ledge and braced door which has braces and three ledges. The oak doors are sanded and ready for fitting, but not sealed. |
