very much in the traditional style of English oak floors. The boards
tend to have a rich and flowery grain with lively variations in colour
and tone, tidy knots and light 'catspaw' - clusters of small knots and
occasional small cracked knots: (sound knots are up to 1", there
may be a few tidy knots up to circa 1.5" on good boards). Some
oak boards may be quarter sawn. Also available in other random widths and/or regular widths. Please call this office for a price. Oak boards may have mild surface checking and occasional brown oak (fistulina hepatica). Sapwood may be visible on some boards (not exceeding 5% of the face area and 10% of the total area). |
