FINISHES.

Choosing the correct finish is of paramount importance in achieving the desired end result to your oak flooring. There are many finishes available on the market but broadly they may be divided into two categories, varnish and oil based.

Varnishes, especially with a low reflective value keep the wood very close to its original colour. Oil tends to enhance the grain and darken the wood to a golden honey colour. [please note that all photographs of grades on this website are fished with oil]

We have a paper available with further information on these and any other specialist finishes. Please contact us if you wish to receive it.
