Parquet blocks are made from Classic/Exmoor
grade oak boards (quercus robor) unless otherwise specified.
They are cut with great precision and are a generous thickness of 20mm which
makes for a long lasting floor - although thickness can be varied to client
specifications. The parquet design is not made into panels before fitting but
laid piece by piece resulting in a finished floor of the very highest quality.

Size of pattern: 390x390mm
[panel illustration showing four square measures
780x780mm]
The normal specifications are 70mm wide by 210mm long.

as is the thickness which can vary from 10mm to 20mm.
Parquet de
Versailles
This
is based on the traditional Parquet de Versailles but has
a continuous pattern with a double border around the perimeter
of the room.
It is supplied in Classic/Exmoor grade oak in two sets of
blocks: strips square edged to 70mm x 370mm x 20mm and blocks
150mm x 150mm x 20mm.
The thickness may be varied. A border strip is also supplied
in random lengths of 70mm wide to be cut on site.
A note on finishes:
natural oil or a water based lacquer are popular types of finish. While oil
deepens the colour of the wood and emphasises the grain, the lacquer keeps the
wood closer to its original colour. Either finish may be used on any of our
parquet designs.
